| In 2006, the Children's
Art Workshop will see some innovations. Since many of the children's
families plan their summer activities around both the 4th of July and the
Children's Art Workshop, this year's schedule has been set to begin the same
week as the July 4th holiday. Sessions will be held at both the Town Park and the La Veta School of the Arts. Children will be divided into 2 groups--younger and older. The younger children will work at the school, concentrating on cut paper compositions under Mary Jean Fowler. The older children will work under Ken Schneider, taking sketchbooks and pencils around town, drawing, with the Park Pavilion as their base. There will be additional artists working with the children, to be announced later. Plans for this year's workshop are still under development.
