Be sure to pick up some clay tumblers. A donation of $5 or more per tumbler provides funds for the awards given in the show. All the tumblers are done by the founders of the Clay Continuum, Polly, Nicole, and Lori.

SUMI VON DASSOW

Sumi is an award-winning ceramic artist who lives in Golden, Colorado. Her love of color and form is expressed in a varied and unique body of work ranging from brightly glazed functional pottery to unglazed burnished work. Sumi teaches pottery at Lakewood's Washington Heights Art Center. She is a columnist and frequent contributor to Pottery Making Illustrated Magazine, and edited the books "Barrel, Pit and Saggar Firing" and "Electric Kiln Pottery" for The American Ceramic Society. Sumi 's book "Low-Firing and Burnishing," as well as her DVD "Pit Firing and Burnishing," were both published in 2009.
