Jeff Stovall selected the winners in the 2018 Photography Show. Jeff is an environmental engineer and enthusiastic photographer living in Amarillo, Texas and Cuchara, Colorado. He was born and raised in Amarillo and attended Texas Tech University. He was introduced to Cuchara by his wife Amy who came to Cuchara with her grandparents as a little girl, and they have been visiting every year they have been married. They bought a historic aspen log cabin in Cuchara in 2012 and spend as much time there as possible.
Jeff Stovall: “I bought my first DSLR camera in 2014 so that I could take better pictures of my two daughters, Lauren and Claire. I quickly realized that I had a lot to learn about how to use a camera, so I began learning as much as I could about photography and, most importantly, taking pictures constantly. This effort turned into a passion for capturing the incredible scenery of the beautiful Cuchara Valley where we spend our summers and holidays as a family. I hope that my images will remind you of the breath-taking beauty of Cuchara and Southern Colorado while you are away, or inspire you to visit if you’ve never been there.”
