The 2019 Western Rendezvous Show is a juried and judged show, open to artists in all media. Artwork provided for consideration must be submitted as DIGITAL images* via email by May 15. Artwork may reflect native American or ranching culture, wildlife, livestock, pioneers, scenery, structures as well as past and current cultural characteristics of the Rocky Mountain West. The show will be judged by Doug Candelaria, an artist who has been fascinated by Cowboys, Indians and Mountain Men since he was a child. Born and raised in Durango, CO he was surrounded by that atmosphere and can remember cattle being driven down the streets of his neighborhood. His paintings depict the life and traditions of the Plains and Desert Indians of the past, as well as the modern cowboy of the West.

*TIPS for creating digital images
- Remove artwork from frame (unless it is framed with nonglare, nonreflective glass) 2. Secure artwork to a wall at your eye level. 3. Using a digital camera, stand at least 5 feet away and zoom in to fill the viewfinder, eliminating as much background or framing materials as possible. If you have access to a photo program that lets you crop pictures, crop out everything except your artwork. Since the images will be viewed on a screen, rather than printed, the resolution should be based on 72 DPI (Dots per inch) and measure at least 1200 pixels on the longest side. Images should be saved as jpeg images. 4. Save the images with the title and your first and last name. 5. Attach to an email to SPACe, or sign up as an artist on Call For Entries.org (CaFE) and upload the images to CaFE. If not using CaFE, you will have to complete an entry form to be mailed to SPACe with your entry fee, received before May 15. (SPACe is closed May 15, so if hand delivering your entry form and fees, it has to be by 2 pm May 14.)
Reception June 22, 5 – 7 pm. Artists are asked to provide a plate of appetizers for the reception.
