Donating to SPACe

Some have asked how their donations are used in support of our organization. Of our total yearly income, barely a tenth comes from grant money, but donations provide up to thirty-five percent! Payroll is our single largest expenditure at 40 percent. Administrative at 39 percent (includes utilities, office supplies, etc.). Events at 8 percent. And, Commissions at 26 percent. In the early years of SPACe, all activities such as gallery and gift shop staff were performed by volunteers and volunteers are still an important part of our commitment to our events, shows and programs. However, family and community dynamics have changed and the individual’s ability to commit time to volunteer activities has suffered.

Your donation will allow SPACe to continue to provide quality shows and receptions, art workshops, Art in the Park and an attractive venue for showing artist’s works and gift shop sales. This year SPACe will celebrate our 50th year of support for artists and although our dedication to members and non-members has remained the same, our expenditures continue to increase. The Spanish Peaks Arts Council is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. All donations are tax deductible. Donors will receive a statement of donations from SPACe. Donations by check can be mailed to SPACe, PO Box 803, La Veta, CO 81055. Please include a mailing address for sending the receipt/statement of donation.
